Abradable coatings are essentially sealing materials and deposited by thermal spray techniques. The main function of these is to control the clearance gas path turbine engines. abradable coating prevents blade damage abrading itself when there an offset or vibration during operation. Since meant abrade, preferred material relatively softer than material. As prone solid particle erosion at high temperatures, response elevated temperatures needs be investigated. In order achieve this objective, MCrAlY boron nitride polymer was employing air plasma spraying technique on a Ni-base alloy substrate. important features microstructure mechanical properties were examined, subjected various under different conditions. results indicate ductile behaviour for top coat. rate increases with temperature coating. detailed investigation presented, mechanisms studied.
